This piece is from a class taught by Patricia Belyea offered by the NSNG. We learned how to draft and sew patterns using hand-drawn, free form curves, matching curves precisely.

Go Ask Alice

This piece was inspired by the fungi growing out of an old tree stump in my back yard. The mushrooms reminded me of the scene in Alice in Wonderland where she ingests mushrooms to change her size and the title references an old Jefferson Airplane song.

It’s a crazy world

This workshop not only taught me about creating curves but also taught a lot of sewing skills. I enjoy using bright fabrics and while putting the quadrants together, it reminded me of a crazy world map. I hope the pieces inspire the world to come together in peace.

My Old Pal Monkey
