Skyler’s Friends

Amy Andrews Payleitner

“Skyler’s Friends” quilt was an absolute joy to make! Skyler is a special girl, she’s artistic and she loves animals–butterflies, unicorns, raccoons, birds, bugs! It was a blast to create for Skyler so she has a yummy and soft quilt she can cuddle with.

Spring Bubbles

Barbara Peterson

This was a happy quilt to make using the pattern and fabric line from Zen Chic. This was my first endeavor into appliqué, so I chose machine, raw edge. It sat in the “to be long armed” closet for a bit. My friend, Chris Piskule, did a lovely job of long arming the quilt.

This was my first, start to finish, everything done myself, quilt. I had many first and learned so very much through out this process. I’m so glad I took on this challenge! The closer you look, the more you’ll see.

Dinosaurs and Bricks II

Staci Raymond

This is technically my third quilt using the unusual combination of dinosaurs and bricks. I enjoy exploring the combination of prehistoric and industrial with a bit of whimsy thrown in. The dancing shrimp, bright colors, and shimmery quilting thread make it even more fun.

Sunflower

Sunflower is an improvisational medallion quilt in a series I’ve been working on for a few years. The colors in the center Sunflower square influenced the scrap fabric color choices in the quilt. It’s sister quilt is Corn and was made around the same time.

To bead and elevate a basic vegetable is quirky and amusing to me. Corn’s sister quilt is Sunflower which was made around theContinue reading “Corn

No Clue!

Staci Raymond

I’m more of an improvisational quilter, so challenge quilts push me out of my comfort zone. A deadline, smaller scale, limited materials and trying something new have been a fun combination. I envisioned a simple but formal table setting. I loved adding the mini wrenches and beading to “dress it up” and thought the mustardContinue reading “No Clue!

Volute Chambers

Cheryl Reynolds-Fefles

Created in Marjolein Dallinga’s Beyond Resist workshop. By cutting through my partially felted piece, hidden colors appeared and created unique, organic forms.
