Chaos Theory

Deborah Himelhoch

I made the fans in a workshop by Edrene Heiss. While I was placing the butterflies at home one of them decided to escape and was quickly joined by several “ghost” butterflies. Between the fans and the butterflies I think we might have some interesting weather brewing.

Larkspur

Deborah Himelhoch

This was started in a worshop by Josh Chernoff. My cat, Larkspur, is a shade of gray called “blue” by breeders, so I decided to make his portrait in blue.

Joy to the World

Deborah Himelhoch

I started this in a workshop by Nancy Roelfsema. It made me happy while I was working on it and the yellow bias stem work reminds me of sunshine winding in and out of the blues and greens, thus the name “Joy to the World”. (but no bullfrog)

Evelyn’s Garden

Lydia Hoelle

My friend, Evelyn, who is an expert at hand appliqué, insisted that I needed to make my first hand appliqué project. I enjoyed the process so much that a small project turned into an entire quilt including the appliqué scallops on the border. Machine quilted by Mark Barr.

Wild whirl

Diane R Johnson

The assignment for the group was to create 4 squares but I chose to make 6 squares in order to make a lap quilt.

Pik Up Stix

Pat Kroth

Parenting four children has its surprises, including stumbling over various toys and game pieces throughout the house. Even though my kids have grown up, with my grandkids, I still find bits and pieces tucked away.

Flight

Pat Kroth

Feathers can float on the breeze, yet are strong and powerful in flight.

Prairie Glow

Pat Kroth

Hiking through the woods then up to a bluff exploding with the color and light of prairie flowers and plants inspired this artwork.
