Earth’s Tones

Jan Sneesby Aaron

This will be gifted to my personal trainer for her many years of putting up with my lack of coordination, etc. She married last year and I decided that was an appropriate reason to gift her a quilt.

Fish

Sarah Ajlouni

I have represented fish as they appear emerging from water, silk scales shimmering and opened eyes.

Sam’s Cats

Gretchen M. Alexander

This little quilt is the third iteration for this fabric. Originally the curtains and bedspread for my daughter, Lisa, then it was remade at her son, Sam’s, request. Now the remains have been turned into a small quilt for a possible great grandchild. Long Arm Quilter: Katie Downie.

Ramona

Melanie Anderson

My first grandchild, Ramona. The quilt holds both her birthdate (front) and her name (back). Machine pieced and quilted primarily from scraps of charity projects.

Mondrian: Blue

Melanie Anderson

My dear neighbor is an interior designer and has given me many scraps and samples. This is a fun way to make them into art. I’ve always wanted to make a “Mondrian quilt” – this is the size to do it.

A Million Fridges

Melanie Anderson

A shout out to Lynn Dykstra for her amazing creativity — this is one of her many adaptations of classics that lends itself to leftovers from other projects.

Who? What? Where?

Melanie Anderson

I love to participate, hence my finishing this quilt. It was a true challenge, and I don’t necessarily think I rose to the occasion, but it did get DONE.

Sukkat Shalom 30th Anniversary Quilt

Cathy Baker

Haporeis Sukkat Shalom means to spread a shelter of peace over us. It was created in the spirit of l’dor v’dor, meaning passing tradition from generation to generation. The tree was fused to background, then students cut, placed and fused each leaf. All who participated signed the back of the quilt.

My Beach Buddy

Kim Berry-Rogers

This young seagull and I studied each other for quite some time on the beach one morning while watching the sunrise. Custom quilted by Sue Daurio.
