Tree of Life

Alice Jenks

IQI I hand beaded and machine quilted it on a domestic sewing machine. Started in an NSNG workshop with Lisa Binkley. She provided fabric with designs by Sue Spargo for us to embellish with bead embroidery. I cut out the design and fused it to a shaded background. Then I beaded it profusely.

Flamboyant Flowers

Alice Jenks

IQI Machine appliqued, embroidered and quilted on a domestic sewing machine. Hand and machine beaded. Started in an NSNG workshop several years ago. It was supposed to be double-sided, but I opted for one side only.

2017 Bead Class

Valerie Koppenhaver

Hand beaded and embroidered in an NSNG workshop on pre-printed fabric. This was my re-entry into slow-stitching techniques and the fact that it was done with others and the open-creativity idea where no-one would have the same ideas – was inspiring.

Three Squared

Donna Koranek

Machine stitched, hand embroidered and beaded. This piece utilized the many decorative stitches on my sewing machine. Embroidery and beading were done by hand.

Memories

Sherry Kramer

Machine quilted vintage handkerchiefs and doilies and cross stitch. This wall hanging is made of my mother, grandmother and aunt’s handkerchiefs, doilies and placemats. They are vintage and remind me of the women in my family who are gone.
