Narrow strip pieced, hand dyed cotton, machine quilted, hand embellished & embroidered trees. After the warming, all the trees are blackened and burnt. Global warming has destroyed their ability to grow and produce seeds.
Hand dyed & commercial cottons. Screen printed. Machine quilted, I was inspired by the beautiful shapes of the common locust thorn when making this piece.

Fused fabics for background. Leaf was made by longarm quilting on dissolve fusible with copper metallic thread. I’m trying to step out of my box and try my hand at art quilting. I golf and saw a leaf like this on the course. I went home and decided to see if I could “quilt” one.
Wholecloth on silk dupioni quilted with metallic thread and wool batting. I love wholecloth quilts and silk fabric, so this is an example of how to have both! I’m still working out the problems of working with silk and metallic. This quilt won a teacher’s award at MQS in Kansas City, 2009.
Bead embroidery, embroidery. This is the finished piece from a class by Lisa Binkley “Exploring Embellishment”. With her guidance we developed design ideas and inspiration.
