Forest Stars

Georgia Baker

Machine pieced and quilted. A UFO finished. A glimpse of the stars on a summer walk in the woods far from the city.

Fish Tanks

Georgia Baker

Machine pieced and home quilted. White frames and fish fabric from my stash and memories of cleaning algae from aquariums led to design.

Shells

Georgia Baker

Machine pieced, hand quilted. I was inspired by both the shell fabric and long ago memories of shell collecting in the very early morning.

Folk Flower Fun

Cathy Baker

Reverse applique, machine pieced, machine quilted. This quilt began at an in-person class with Ann Marie Horner. Her fun-loving personality and many of her fabrics show in this delightful garden of flowers.

Chuppah for Sukkat Shalom

Cathy Baker

A chuppah is a Jewish wedding canopy symbolizing a roof over the married couple’s home. The Hebrew letter translates to mean “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. This Chuppah was created for Congregation Sukkat Shalom in Wilmette in honor of Founding Rabbi Sam Gordon’s retirement. (Machine pieced and quilted, fusible applique.)

Winki Stars for Susie

Cathy Baker

This quilt was made for my beautiful mom who as a little girl looked like the child in the backgroud fabric. At 90 years old she still remembers what it feels like to be a little girl with a kite! (Machine pieced (all Y-seams) and quilted.)

Cheshire Cat Table Runner

Diana Barrie

Machine pieced, hand quilted, hand embroidered. IQI 2018 Challenge. Design Source – Cheshire cat image and quote from Lewis Carrol’s “Alice in Wonderland”.
