Chuppah for Sukkat ShalomCathy Baker
A chuppah is a Jewish wedding canopy symbolizing a roof over the married couple’s home. The Hebrew letter translates to mean “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. This Chuppah was created for Congregation Sukkat Shalom in Wilmette in honor of Founding Rabbi Sam Gordon’s retirement. (Machine pieced and quilted, fusible applique.)

Fused raw edge applique, free motion quilting. This quilt was created in real-time as the 2016 election unfolded. As each state results finalized a red or blue fabric was adhered. At 11:59 PM the current results were used to complete the quilt.
