Chuppah for Sukkat Shalom

Cathy Baker

A chuppah is a Jewish wedding canopy symbolizing a roof over the married couple’s home. The Hebrew letter translates to mean “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. This Chuppah was created for Congregation Sukkat Shalom in Wilmette in honor of Founding Rabbi Sam Gordon’s retirement.
