Machine pieced and quilted The Murrumbidgee River (an aboriginal word meaning “big water”) is a tributary of the Murray River in southeastern Australia. Here the river flows past an Australian landscape punctuated by aboriginal designs.
Machine pieced and quilted. Horses are outlined to stand out in relief; manes are thread-painted to flatten them. A wool batting lends puffiness. The quilt was made for my brother, a horse-racing aficionado. The blue and gold checks evoke racing silks.
