Harlequin Horned and Winged Bowl

Candace Rich

Stitched entirely in Peyote stitch, which means one bead at a time is picked up and woven into the beadwork — very time-consuming! However, I loved watching the shapes and designs take place in this contemporary geometric design.

Dimensional Fantasy

Candace Rich

A challenging pattern using RAW (Right Angle Weave), DRAW (Double Right Angle Weave), Chenille stitch, and Peyote stitch to create a hollow 3-dimensional structure embellished with pearls, crystals, and crystal rivolis.

Spring Flowers

Mellany Schumacher

My entire family has boys, boys, boys and when I saw this pattern I knew I wanted to make the pinkest, girliest quilt with it. The back is a super soft minky and it’s just waiting for the right baby girl to claim it.

Taupe Triangles

Amy Spungen

I started this quilt on an informal retreat with some of my quilting friends, and every time I look at it I am reminded of what fun we had when we got together.

My Heart Attack

Lori Tilkin

I had my first heart attack at 54, I was incredulous. This piece was the way I processed this experience. They told me my heart would heal and grow ancillary veins. Visualizing my Heart growing and gaining strength helped me heal.

Open Leaf

Linda Tomkow

This piece was made with multiple resists (patterns) that were cut a certain way to reveal the inside layers of wool which became three dimensional.

Treasure Map

Ariel Towers

This was from a pattern with many different finishing/fabric options. I loved the idea of making a quilt made up of different types of basic symbols. Using foundation paper piecing, a great technique for making otherwise difficult to create designs, you are able to make an infinite variety of quilted images.

Not – So – Still Life

Ariel Towers

Using a variety of fabrics and textures from a slew of my favorite designers, including machine embroidered flowers, I wanted to make a fun, bohemian play on a typical still life.
