Feathered Star Medallion

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and custom machine quilted. This was The Quilt Show’s Block of the Month in 2009. But there were so many pieces I didn’t get mine done until 2012!

Leopard and Old Lace

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and quilted. Made from a single piece of cloth from a book called “One Block Wonders”. Lots of fun playing with color and design but it takes a long time to piece.

Working Dogs

Suzanne Ditsler

Wire – needle felting – sewing In this piece the “Working Dog” is depicted as “playing”, “dancing”, :walking” or loving their prey – rather than “working it”.

Tree Hugger

Suzanne Ditsler

Needle felting, wire, beads Birch trees are a favorite. The image of a tree, blowing leaves and all one delicate color – makes me smile.

Penny Totems

Suzanne Ditsler

Felted wool – sewn – wire – embroidery. I love the geometry of the penny rug. I am also intrigued by the totem poles. The two together provide an interesting image.

Ring around the Posie

Sue DiVarco

Round Robin Challenge – machine piecing, hand applique, longarm quilting, embellished with buttons & yo-yo’s My 6 quilt bee friends challenged ourselves to do a Round Robin. Each made a Center block of our own choice of design & fabric, then sent it around the group, secretly. Following these design rules: Row 1 – triangles

Tisket A Tasket

Sue DiVarco

Wool applique, machine pieced, longarm quilting, needlefelted wool My first wool applique project so I experimented with different types of wool. The background is wool coating – most wool scraps were purchased, but some I needlefelted from roving.

Two holes were drilled in each cork which were then sewn together with Perle cotton using a variation of the beading stitch Right Angle Weave. This piece is made up of more than 1200 white wine corks, which were collected over 30 years. No, I did not drink all that wine.
