A Horse of a Different Color

Machine pieced and quilted. Horses are outlined to stand out in relief; manes are thread-painted to flatten them. A wool batting lends puffiness. The quilt was made for my brother, a horse-racing aficionado. The blue and gold checks evoke racing silks.

Vegetable Sofreh

Machine pieced and quilted A sofreh is a traditional Persian table covering. It is spread on a low table or on the floor and the group gathers around it to eat.

Twilight

Paper-pieced, machine quilted, embellished with rhinestones Twilight was inspired by a block pattern from Quilts with Style magazine. The multi-color fabric was the 2005 Hoffman Challenge. I was planning to enter the challenge, but did not complete the quilt until 2007! The quilt was machine quilted by Debbie and Stu Bookman of Bookman Quilting.
