Raw-edge applique. Machine stitching. This piece is a tribute to the wonderful New Orlean Jazz musicians & particularly to one of my favorites, Doreen Ketchens, silhouetted on the laft playing her clarinet. She can often be seen playing on Royal Street in the French Quarter.

Hand-dyed fabric, free form machine quilted. The Bird of Paradise stands for happiness, love, freedom, joy, opportunity and good fortune. It’s flower brings to mind a bird in flight and thus it is also belived to represent the ability to soar above world troubles.

Hand woven, free-form weaving on a loom I designed and made. This piece was inspired by a friend’s photo of a sunset over the lake near her home – even though it looks nothing like the original photo.

Hand-dyed fabric, machine stitching, raw edge applique. I am trying to create more abstract work which is more diffcult for me than representational. On this piece I mostly worked with color as my guide and used organza for layering and texture.
