Just Keep Swimming

Pamela Penney

This is a handwoven tapestry utilizing hand spun and hand dyed yarns with purchased yarns embellished with beads and fabrics and mounted to a foraged branch. Pamela utilizes her weaving and yarn spinning practice to salvage bits of fiber and ephemera into new amd textured pieces. Her art practice keeps her “swimming” through life.

This was a mystery quilt from GEL Design Mystery Quilts. The mystery was entitled Elemental. I chose fabric from the Weather Report Line. Some of the designs were challenging. I pieced the front and back and Barb Jolley was the longarmer. (Machine quilted, the back is my own design.)

This is a paper pieced pattern designed by Judy Niemeyer. I bought the pattern 10 years ago but never felt “ready” to tackle it. I decided this was the year! I want to thank Barb Jolley who did a beautiful job with the long-arming. (Judy Niemeyer)

Dorothy Pitzen

Machine pieced. Machine quilted by Nancy Gonzalez of Bobbi Wahl Studio. This quilt is an improvisation. I enjoy beginning a quilt without knowing the finished design. I like working with batiks. It seems to make the project a joy. I used a combination of templates by “Quilt Escapes, Strips ‘n Curves”.
