A Garden on the DeckBarbara Maneck
Triangular templates were used to cut fabric shapes and machine stitched together to form a kaleidoscope. Fussy cutting added new elements to the design and fusable webbing held all in place on the quilt top and machine satin stitched down. Quilting, facings, and hand beading added to the design.

Wet felted by hand using Merino Wool Top, Burrs and Nepps, Rambouillet Wool Fiber, Icelandic Wool Top, Cotswold and Leicester Wool Locks, hand-dyed silk for applique, hand embroidered.

Hand made joomchi paper: mulberry paper, mylar, jute, silk, wire, and hand painted millinery flowers.
Lace-and-Vine EmbraceJOANN MURDOCK
Joomchi paper lantern, made using multiple layers of mulberry paper. A layer of pinhole lace is supported by additional layers of mulberry paper laminated with larger lace openings. Joomchi string is lightly stitched, with beading, to encircle the lantern with a vining embrace.
