Turbulence

Many things cause turbulence in our lives: the economy, politics, social disparity, health, personal loss, emotional unrest, mental hardships…and the wind. (Machine stitched yarns, threads, fibers. Shaped and stiffened.)

Uncertain Times

Danger and caution tape are physical barriers to keep us in/out, safe or in peril. The title refers to an often-used phrase of the last year “These Uncertain Times”. (Plastic caution and construction warning tape, bird-fencing, hand-dyed and commercial fabric. Machine stitched.)

Camping under Pine

I saw this giant solitary pine tree and the fog behind it inspired this piece. There are suggestions of the Rocky Mountains in the background. (Rug hooking on linen with nad-dyed wool, boucle yarn and wool yarn.)

This piece was created from the center outward without any design or drawing. It just grew until it was done. The uneven exterior edge is a design reflecting all the unknowns in our lives. (Rug hooking on lilnen with hand-dyed wool, wool yarn, wool backing.)

Costume Makers Ball Halloween Quilt

The center is a panel which I don’t usually use but I loved this one. I did this Halloween quilt as many of my family members love Halloween. Quilted by Sue DiVarco. (Machine pieced and quilted.)

Brigadoon Star

Quilt was inspired by the night dancing scene in the movie Brigadoon. After taking a day-long Amish quilt workshop, I watched Gene Kelly in a light blue shirt dance in the dark woods with Cyd Charisse in a scarlet dress. (Machine pieced, hand quilted.)
