Triangle Scraps

Sarah Evans

These are triangles from a quilter’s stash passed on to a friend after the original quilter passed away. I received 3 gallon size plastic bags full of triangles. They were hand cut and not symmetrical in a way that could be sewn together easily. I picked out one of each fabric and added a yard of solid fabric. This design and layout emerged from my play with the blocks. The rest of the triangles were passed on to another quilter to play with. Further proof that even if we don’t finish all our projects in our lifetime, someone, somewhere may pick them up and have a lot of fun with the pieces we leave behind.

(Machine pieced blocks. Quilted on Long Arm with frame.)
