This design began with roving and thread. The roving is needle felted to fabric, along with various yarns and fibers. Next the floral designs were free motion stitched with thread and the design was free motion quilted to hold all the fibers in place. Hand winding & sewing onto background. The large white treescape of 2010 was designed to draw us in and embrace us with her peaceful serenity. It all began with a few small steps.
Hand knitting, hand sewing, tearing. The almost giddy excitement created by the bright, shimmering stainless steel open form above the strength of the tailored heavy paper somehow proves that opposites attract.
Created design for wicket. Used hand knitting & sewing on cylinder. Through the wicket: I think of this as a game for grown-ups, as aiming the open-ended cylinder through the arch may be more challenging than it looks. Good luck!
