Hand & machine pieced, hand quilted. This project lived in my head for many years before I had the time to make it. It took about 6 months, start to finish.

Thank You Laurie

Phyllis Paulo

All machine piecing & quilting. Laurie Gorton taught this class at the Quilt-In 2013. The central square was done with Laurie’s help. The rest was put together after 2 days of unsuccessfully trying to sew the other 3 squares. Then I just started to put this quilt together, it is magical it turned out!

Orphan, Please Take Me Home

Each woman in the study donated her 5″ square. I think there are 2 or 3 other quilts like this somewhere. The WHI (Women’s Health Initiative) 1995 – 2005. After the study concluded this quilt has been homeless. Anyone who can give it a home is welcomed to it.

Drafted the compass pattern, paper pieced, quilted on a domestic sewing machine. This piece was begun in a class with Kris Lyn Kirsch about 10 years ago. I finished the paper piecing & quilted it over this 2013 summer.

Earth’s Magnet

Joan Schnadig

Machine stitched quilt top – Joan Schnadig. All over quilted by Maureen Tinley. I started with the middle section and worked out over the course of about a year. When I finished I went back and added the black border around the middle.

Diamond Twilight

Joan Schnadig

Machine stitched pieces – Joan Schnadig. All over quilted by Maureen Tinley. I originally used all this fabric in another quilt which I wasn’t happy with. Loved the fabric not the design. So I ripped it apart and used the fabric for this one.
