This piece was inspired by the Aurora Borealis in Alaska while on a trip. It was the first time I saw the Northern lights and they were magical, never to be forgotten!
I added the mountains to the piece to gain the broad perspective of the lights in the vast nighttime sky. Even the pieced background reminds me of the flashing northern lights.
Viewing from a short distance gives one the perspective of the vast nighttime sky over the mountain ranges.
