Digital photo printed on cloth, machine quilting, hand quilting & embroidered embellishments. Flowers and all of their various parts fascinate me. When I look closely at the details, design inspirations are endless. In this work I have printed my flower photo on fabric and thread enhanced the details with hand embroidery. Once the photo inset is complete I use plastic sheeting as a “tissue” overlay to indicate quilting ideas. The machine quilting by Sue DiVarco further describes the flower as if to complete the image. This is the first in a series of flower studies.
