Intuitive machine piecing. The small square in the center of the third block down on the left facing was the starting point for this quilt which is intuitively pieced. I took the tiny fabric scrap to my stash to find fabrics that would play well together, kept them near by and began to sew, cut, add, sew, cut, add, constantly making choices about color pattern, shape and size. As I worked on the quilt and in my garden I began to see that I was inspired by the colors of early spring buds, blossoms and sprouts.
