This quote by Richard Powers from his powerful novel, The Overstory, lived in my head for months. It’s a book about the devastating loss of the irreplaceable North American old-growth forests. It’s about how trees communicate with one another. It’s about love, gritty determination, and hope. Mostly, it’s an indictment against careless excess. I have long wanted to make a statement quilt; I’m so grateful that I now have the luxury of time to bring a project like this to fruition.
So Much Wasted
