Photoshop, digital printing on fabric, hand stitching, quilting, fused fabric, torn strips sewn together to make fabric. My roots play a part in who I am. Although I am an individual, I cannot discount how my ancestors’ hardships and situations in life affect my own life and make up who I am. Whether they were convicts who were convicted for trying to feed their families or suffering from grief for a great loss, or they were migrants, heading to Australia looking for a better life. All of them have played a part in who I am.
