“Pot as Mordant” printing/dyeing.

In the fall of 2020, I began studying the “Pot as Mordant” printing technique with Nicola Brown. This simple process uses the power of an aluminum pot, copper pipes, an iron horseshoe, vinegar water and 2 hours of boiling or steaming. The result is a unique mordanted color fast garment, scarf or hat featuring leaves from my garden. This process fulfills my love of gardening, sewing, up cycling and creating one of a kind garments with minimal impact to the environment. I continue to study with Nicola, teach classes and am on a fulfilling and fun creative journey.
