Erin and Jon’s Chuppah

Abby Block

Machine Applique

This custom Chuppah (wedding canopy) was designed and made for grandchildren Jon and Erin Gordon. Their Hebrew names cut from map fabric, signifying their love of travel, are appliqued on each family tree. The underside of each leaf is monogrammed with 6 generations of direct ancestors. The center section depicts their fondness for vegetables, sunsets, and the deer that appeared at Rosewood Beach where they became engaged. They chose the Hebrew quote at the bottom which translates: “to life, to love, good  heartedness and well being”. The 7 birds symbolize the 7 wedding blessings and the moon and stars show that there is heavenly sanction.
