Heat bonded fiber fragments, candy wrappers, found objects; toys, paperclips, buttons, trapped threads. Tulle overlays. Machine stitched. After my four kids left me a deposit of candy wrappers behind the couch one year after halloween, I started adding to the collection and including them in my work.

Hand-dyed fabric, heat bonded applique, machine embroidered and stitched with cotton, wool, rayon and polyester threads. Machine needle-felted with wool fibers. I trained for and competed in three full Ironman Triathlon events. During a particularly hot day out on the bike course I motivated myself by thinking of a tall cool drink.

Parenting four children has its surprises, including stumbling over various toys and game pieces throughout the house. Even though my kids have grown up, with my grandkids, I still find bits and pieces tucked away.
