Machine piecing, hand applique, embroidery and embellishments. Hot-fix crystals, crochet. I love all fiber arts and was experimenting with how to combine my beautiful yarns with some gorgeous batiks to create a magical fantasy garden.

Machine applique, machine piecing. I loved the pattern and the challenge of finding just the right fabric for each element. All fabrics are by one of my favorite fabric designers – Kaffe Fassett. (Design by Kim McLean; made and quilted by Ariel Towers)

English paper piecing, machine quilted. This pattern has been made by many quilters. My version features almost exclusively the whimsical fabrics of designer Tula Pink. Applique, hand stitching. This quilt was born out of my love of the Arizona desert where I often go hiking. During the gray winter I was imagining all the colors and shapes, longing to be out in the sun.
