Interpretation of American Flag

Rhonda Newman

Machine pieced and quilted. This is a quilt pattern from Temecual Quilt Co. What drew me to this pattern was all the small triangles. There are 924 of them. Also, picking out the red, white and blue fabrics. Enjoy. Pattern from Temecula Quilt Co, “God Bless America”.

Declaration of Intent

Patricia Tamandl Niffenegger

Fused, machine pieced, machine quilted. Although Emile Zola (1840-1902) was a French novelist, not a visual artist, I found this quote inspirational in making my textile pieces. My work reflects a love of bright, saturated colors, words as part of the design and a mix of fabric and techniques.

Brigadoon Star

Pat Niffenegger

Quilt was inspired by the night dancing scene in the movie Brigadoon. After taking a day-long Amish quilt workshop, I watched Gene Kelly in a light blue shirt dance in the dark woods with Cyd Charisse in a scarlet dress. (Machine pieced, hand quilted.)

Chartreuse & Purple Squared

Pat Niffenegger

Machine pieced & quilted. Using the flower fabric as inspiration & two favorite colors (chartreuse & purple) in mostly batik fabrics, I pieced the quilt. It was quilted by Debbie Bookman.

Art Saves (Anonymous and Me Series #3)

Pat Niffenegger

Machine pieced, hand and machine quilted, embellished with buttons & vintage crocheted potholder. This is the third in a series of wall hanging-size quilts using a crafted piece created by another person. I found the face potholder in an antique shop & was intrigued by the maker’s ingenuity.
