Machine quilted, crayola fabric crayon transfer, machine pieced. Woodlawn Community School (Chicago IL) fourth grade students created this quilt to spread their message of non-violence and to pay tribute to young people killed in Chicago from Jan 2009 – June 2010.

Hand dyed fabrics by quilter, machine appliqué, embroidered and quilted using wool batting. The lady slipper is hand painted. This quilt was constructed as part of a challenge for the 62nd Annual Orchid Show in Miami, Florida. I chose the lady slipper to honor wild orchids.
