Piecing, pieced back, long arm quilted. The kaleidoscopic hexagons were created by cutting six identical areas of the fabric (as seen on the center back of the quilt) into triangles. I pieced the front and back, then quilted it with a longarm machine.

30 Days Hath Sudoku, November 2005 ObsessionRoberta Levin
Appliqué-fused 2,430 fabric squares embellished with satin ribbon. Hand guided long arm quilting. Each of the 30 blocks of this quilt represent one Sudoku puzzle. I worked the Tribune’s daily puzzle each day for a month, then substituted one fabric for each number 1 – 9.

Fussy cut piecing; fused and turned appliqué. Machine embellished appliqué. Long arm quilted, hand guided. Much like a garden, the design of this quilt grew organically. An earlier simple design ended up as a more complex quilt.

Machine pieced and machine quilted. The inspiration for this quilt was the sunflower fabric which the hexagon blocks are made from. There is a piece of the original quilt on the back of the quilt. The top is composed of 594 equilateral triangles set in a kaleidoscope design.

Machine pieced, machine quilted, The inspiration for this quilt was the 50’s kitchen scene. The quilt was pieced in a liberated style with modern bikinis, shoes & purses to contrast with the traditional “pre-liberated” women. Machine quilted by Robyn House.
