This is my first red, white and blue quilt in over 35 years of quilting. I really liked the strong graphic in Lisa Bongan’s “American Outlander” pattern. Custom long-arm machine quilting by Sue DiVarco. (Machine pieced, machine quilted.)

The elephant is named Stella for a character in the book “The One and Only Ivan”. Pattern “Elephant Abstraction” is by Violet Kraft. Custon longarm quilting by Sue DiVarco. (Foundation pieced, machine quilted.)

Embroidery, sashiko, boro, yo-yos. I purchased this coat with the intent to embellish it, but didn’t really get the motivation until Lisa Binkley’s “Beyond Boro” NSNG class in November 2022. Embellishments are original designs. The coat was made by Susan Eastman.

Glued raw edge applique. Longarm quilting by Sue DiVarco. Original design from my photo taken at the Morton Arboretum. Started Sept 2022 in a class with Susan Carlson at Woodland Ridge. One classmate said “his eyes follow you around the room”. Longarm quilted by Sue DiVarco.
