Machine sewn & quilted. The Civil War is of great interest to me. I love the reproduction fabrics, their patterns and colors. This quilt is my way to honor the women who sacrificed so much on both sides of the war. I wanted to honor the 150th anniversary of the war.

Machine sewn and quilted. Hand crafted batik fabric from Malaysia. Working with this hand made batik fabric was a challenge! The pattern warned that “the design elements will not match up”. I love the energy of the design and the colors created by other artists.

What a playful pattern! The zipper shows on the back so cute. The mix of colors and patterns makes me smile. (Hand made yoyo’s. machine piecing and quilting.)

I took an on-line class in January 2021 with Carl Hentsch. He is a great teacher on-line! His templates work well. I used fat quarters to make the colorwheel work. Backgrounds are from my stash. (Foundation piecing, machine piecing. Quilted by Amy Parker, Evanston.)

This was a Mystery Quilt by Quilters Quest Quilt Shop starting in January 2021 on Zoom. Pieces were cut by my Accucut Cutter. Having steps revealed every two weeks kept me happily sewing during that C-19 winter. The colors show my support of Ukraine. (Machine piecing. Quilted by Amy Parker.)

Machine applique, machine quilted. Summer offers a great time to observe the phases of the moon. This summer had a lovely ‘Blue Moon’ which I had to include. What fun to make an Art Quilt!

Machine pieced, long-arm quilted by Sue DiVarco. This was a great class. My first large quilt in which I worked out the colors and their placement.

Fused applique, machine stitched and quilted. I took two classes with Bill Kerr last year. I made this quilt following his pattern. A “modern” quilt – so fun!

Fused applique, machine stitched and quilted. I’ve waited 14 years from taking a class with Nancy Lee Chong. The need for peace, in Japanese, is still really needed in the world.
