Garden Stampede

Pat Kroth

Hand dyed fabric, postage stamps, tulle, vegetable bags, rick rack, machine stitched. Prior to email, cell phones and I-pads, correspondence was done by a letter in a stamped envelope. Here I celebrate the ordinary postage stamp for its uniqueness, color, design and beauty.

Garden Light

Pat Kroth

Hand-dyed, hand cut and torn fabrics, heat bonded collage, machine stitched. When I walk into a beautiful garden the color strikes me first, but no matter what time of day, the garden glows with its own light.

Fireworks Fantasy

Pat Kroth

Hand-dyed commercial fabrics, candy wrappers, rick-rack, fortunes, buttons, paperclips, netting, vegetable bags, yarn, thread, heat bonded applique, machine stitched. I love watching fireworks; the colors, the noise, the suspense, the movement all provide inspiration.

Gingko Autumn

Pat Kroth

Hand-dyed, sun-printed fabric (using real leaves). Machine stitched. Fall is my favorite season – gingkos one of my favorite leaves.

Aurora Winds

Pat Kroth

Hand-dyed & commercial fabrics cut and torn. Heat bonded applique. Machine stitched. A friend shared his photos of the northern lights in Iceland. He described the cold, barrenness and the wind, and inspired this piece.

Burst thy Cage Asunder

Camilla Krueger

Hand stitched (fabric), hand embroidered, hand beaded. Looking at the proper, static flowers in the printed design I decided I wanted to help them explode into a new dimension, a new awareness, a new realm of existence. “Burst thy cage asunder” is from the writings of Baha’u’llah.

Starry Starry Cottage

Ronna Leibach

Fabric piecing, thread lacing, machine & hand embroidery, embellished with crystals. This was done as part of a workshop, learning various techniques. We were asked to provide our own fabric and my “stash” lends itself to a more whimsical style.

Waterlilies at the CBG

Ronna Leibach

Cotton and silk fabric mosaic on fusible adhesive, machine embroidered. This was inspired by my favorite waterlilies at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I love their fluidity and delicate nature. This technique is like assembling a puzzle – of textures and colors.

Beads, Buttons and Roses

Ronna Leibach

Fabric print, beading, machine and hand embroidery. This was done as part of a class with Lisa Binkley. This was my first beaded project and I used a variety of beads, embroidery, and threads to complete it.
