Machine pieced, hand quilted. I started this quilt around 2003 when I lived in Barrington. I finished the piecing in California and named it ‘Sunset over the Pacific’ but it ended up in my UFO pile. Another move, the quilt came out again for quilting and a return to its original name.
Pieced, fused, appliqued and painted; couched trims. Burney Falls State Park is a little jewel of a park in Northern California, a long way from any freeway.
Hand-marbled polished cotton, hand-made bias tape, machine-sewn, hand-made frogs, poly lining. It was great fun working out the marbled “puzzle” pieces. Jacket size M.
Machine pieced and quilted on home sewing machine. This was changed from a large quilt pattern. When I tired of making blocks I decided 2 small quilts would do. This and the companion demonstrate how a different color works with the same block.
3D flowers, yo-yo’s, confetti trees – machine embellished. Texture Magic grass. A combination of techniques were used. The 3D flowers were made using a Kanzashi flower maker.

Hand dyed silk scarf, nuno felted and embellished with wool felt. Hand made flowers and needle felted birds. This was derived from an NSNG workshop where the background was created. The birds technique was learned from a guild member.
Hand felted from wool roving. Wool shrinks as you work and manipulate it. The flowers are needle felted to the fiber base. Made in a class at NSNG with Cynthia Boudreau.
Reverse applique, fused fabric, confetti and free motion quilting. Inspired by a class with Rosalie Dace at NSNG. The reverse applique technique was done in layers. Embellished with fused fabric confetti and over-stitched.
Cut out appliqué, machine embroidered leaves. This piece reflects many techniques to feature machine embroidered leaves that were appliqued to background.
