Machine pieced and quilted. My daughter asked me if I would make her a Christmas quilt with “old fashioned colors”. This is a surprise for her this Christmas.

Brittany’s Christmas Quilt
Jeremy’s Graduation QuiltJulie Johnson
Machine pieced and quilted. My honorary nephew, Jeremy, is graduating next June 2015 from West Point and I wanted to make him a quilt with West Point’s colors (black, gray and gold).
Barn Raising Stash BustKathy Jurevicius
Self-mitered, no bias edge block technique by Anita Grossman Solomon; machine quilted. I enjoyed the process of arranging my fabric scraps into a series of light-to-dark gradations and the ease of using vellum paper for piecing.

Too SweetPat Kroth
Heat bonded fiber fragments, candy wrappers, found objects; toys, paperclips, buttons, trapped threads. Tulle overlays. Machine stitched. After my four kids left me a deposit of candy wrappers behind the couch one year after halloween, I started adding to the collection and including them in my work.
Twist of LimePat Kroth
Hand-dyed fabric, heat bonded applique, machine embroidered and stitched with cotton, wool, rayon and polyester threads. Machine needle-felted with wool fibers. I trained for and competed in three full Ironman Triathlon events. During a particularly hot day out on the bike course I motivated myself by thinking of a tall cool drink.
Maple DancePat Kroth
Hand-dyed and sun-printed cotton, machine stitched. Fall is my favorite season, not only for nature’s beautiful display, but for the winds of change that it brings.
Blooming SweetPat Kroth
Hand-dyed and commercial fabrics, candy wrappers, buttons, vegetable bags, tulle, machine stitched. As a parent of 4 kids, over the years I have found candy wrappers stashed behind the couch and in the back of the van. Now I have chosen to put them to good use.
Tide PoolPat Kroth
Heat bonded fiber fragments: cottons, cotton blends, lace, satin, ribbons, trims and threads. Tulle overlays. Machine embellished with cotton and rayon, and metallic threads. This is one in a series of pieces about water – its beauty, power and inspiration.
Woods RamblePat Kroth
Mixed content fiber fragments, trapped threads and yarns, multiple sheer overlays, machine stitched. Walking in the woods is a quiet place for rejuvenation and inspiration for me.
Nine LivesCindy Kuo
Photoshop, digital printing on fabric, hand stitching. Over the years we have had a number of cats – 9 in total. Each one of them with their own personality. Only the first 3 are no longer with us but their funny little quirks live on in our hearts. From top to bottom:
View From AboveTracy Lampkins
Hand applique & hand quilted. This piece was designed to be the view of a koi pond from above. I challenged myself by placing 3 prints together & no two solids next to each other.
VisionTracy Lampkins
Hand applique & hand quilted. Design started out as a doodle on a small piece of paper. Loved working on this and selecting the vibrant colors.
Stacked CoinsTracy Lampkins
Machine pieced & machine quilted. This is a baby quilt meant to be used. So often baby quilts are so delicate parents are scared to get them dirty. This one is just the opposite. This quilt has dark denim borders & backing. Throw it in the grass or sand, then into the washing machine andContinue reading “Stacked Coins

Betty’s EscapadesSue Lazar
Hand appliqued, machine pieced and quilted. The inspiration for this quilt is my wonderful mom, Idele Lazar. She introduced me to sewing and Betty Boop. Each T-shirt and the two fabric panels represent a story about her. This was my first T-hirt quilt class taught by Marilyn Mitchel at Quilters’ Destination. Long arm quilted byContinue reading “Betty’s Escapades
