In Full Bloom

Hand pieced, hand appliqued, hand quilted, hand embroidered and hand beaded. I had this idea for a contemporary art piece using my new “rushing skills” and my old embroidery skills. This art piece turned out much differently than I originally planned.

A Children’s Playground

Hand embroidered, hand pieced, hand quilted, hand beaded. I embroidered the redwork pattern from Praise Publications of the children in blue. Then I decided to design an environment around them. The design just grew from there.

Applique, much threadwork on top, then quilted. Some fabric is hand dyed, some commercial. Original design from my personal photograph. It was a beautiful iris in my sister’s garden in the Pacific NW. Immortalized in this interpretation.

Felt pieces arranged into composition, then machine quilted and embellished. This was inspired by a picture. Techniques were machine quilting & unique edge treatment.
