Cherry Pie

Marilyn Pospishil

Hand pieced and hand quilted. I was experimenting with what can be done with two different sized triangles. I loved the cherry fabric and this is what was “born”.

Natural Impressions – Blowin’ in the Wind

Valerie Rodelli

This fabric was painted & sunprinted with natural plants. Free motion threadwork was then done on top only. Finally it was free-motion quilted. After centerpiece was painted and stitched, the borders were designed & thread painted. The “natural” theme was carried out with the free-motion quilting.

The Newspaper

Valerie Rodelli

Hand cut circles were arranged in a composition. Free-motion threadwork and quilting hold layers together. This has been designed with all polyester fabric. The grid / lattice was achieved with soldering, a technique I recently learned. Can you figure out the name?

Luminaria

Valerie Rodelli

Wet felted with various wool fibers, with some inclusions. First the fibers were felted around dowel rods. These were mounted on base and illuminated from the base.

Life’s Passages

Valerie Rodelli

Mosaic technique learned in a workshop. Free motion machine quilted. Fused hand-dyed fabrics. This piece should evoke life’s passages. Some are in good times – some in difficult times. Often times there is more that one choice of path to follow…hence life’s journey.

Starry Nights

Martha Ross-Mockaitis

Paper pieced blocks, machine quilted. This IQI challenge was a great way for me to do a color study and learn how to paper piece stars. The challenge was a great teaching tool for me.
