Mixed media – fiber, gel medium, paint, layering. My Urban Landscapes/Weathered Walls series references the many layers in life. Cracks in the bark of a tree, chipping and peeling paint, weathering of a brick or stone wall…these things allow us to see the effects of aging, the layers of meaning in passing time. These pieces are about nature’s cycles of growth and decay and encourage the viewer to appreciate imperfect or muted beauty, beauty that can only come with age.
