Needle felted dyed sheep’s wool.

I paint with fiber. Colored sheep’s wool is the paint on my palette. A sheet of felted wool is the canvas. And the needle is my paint brush. I blend and layer colored wool to achieve desired hues, tones, and gradations, and I build wth it to add a sculptural element. Organic shapes and forms are my embrace of the natural world, a refuge from digital and man-made spaces we work and live in today. The tactile nature of felting for me is immersive and comforting; manipulating wool directly with my hands, I truly feel part of the work.
