Giant Sequoias, also known as giant redwoods, are the world’s largest trees, known to grow over 300 feet high and 27 feet in diameter. The oldest known giant sequoia is 3500 years old. Giant Sequoias are an endangered species (population is decreasing), and many are protected in groves including Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and Mariposa Grove in Yosemite National Park in California.
