NSNG Machine paper pieced background; free standing machine embroidered butterflies and dragonflies; machine pieced and quilted. The runner was made for the IQI challenge quilt; it is used on a cabinet my husband built for our bathroom. The “flowers” were machine paper pieced using my embroidery machine. The butterflies and dragonflies are free-standing lace, again on the embroidery machine. The rules of the challenge restricted the number of fabrics we could use, so I painted a piece of organza the colors I needed for the insects using fabric paints.
