Hand embroidered using pearl cotton and metallic threads, silk ribbon, fussy cut inlays, beads and other embellishments. Machine quilted and stitched. A striking example of beauty and function. I wanted to create something functional as well as beautiful. Something that could be enjoyed and viewed daily. Art work that would also serve as a table runner. The decision to use the Sunflower as the top panel and the Stargazer as the bottom panel created a need to link the two. My decision was to create an abstract panel for the center. This abstract is a representation of a garden from which the flowers grow. The fabric was chosen for its exotic pattern and earth tones that brings this design full circle.
