Cub Lake Trail

Marilyn Graves

As a Christmas gift last year, I made my husband a needlework version of his favorite hiking trail in the Colorado Rockies – Cub Lake. This piece was inspired by Barbara Schneider’s “Observations: Walking in Wonder” exhibit. (Handwork done on linen with some dimension added to reflect topography.)

Legacy

Marilyn Graves

Photography digitalized into machine embroidery. Machine quilted. My father was a gardener and my mother a fiber artist. They instilled a passion for both in me. My quilt brings together these 2 passions. The flowers on this quilt represent a collection of legacy flowers lovingly transplanted from my grandparent’s and father’s garden into my own garden.
