This painting is a hand-painted batik on satin silk. Layers of fiber reactive dyes and soy wax were used to build all colors.
“Cabbage Fantasy” was created after I took a lovely fall walk at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I fell in love with the spectacular purple and green cabbage plants and began to paint. I focused on surrounding the plant center with bold and vibrant colors.
This original design was based on several sketches/studies of cabbage plants.
