Machine embroidered, machine pieced & quilted. The background came from leftovers from another piece. It provided the inspiration for this piece.

Great fun selecting and collecting selvages. (Selvages stitched on a sweatshirt that was disassembled.)

The kit for this project was won at a paddle auction. Loved the critters. (Machine pieced and machine quilted on a home machine)

Machine quilt as you go with piping. Couldn’t pass when I saw this pattern. Not difficult to make.

Machine pieced & quilted. Embellished with paint, paintsticks and beading. Experiment with embellishing using paint & beads to accent the fish.

Machine pieced – blocks cut apart & restitched. This piece looks like complicated piecing & stitching but its really just sewing square blocks.

Strip pieced, machine quilted. It’s all straight stitching. Looks complicated but it’s not.

Paper pieced & machine applique & machine quilted. These are sample trials for a queen size quilt.

Fused confetti & thread painting. Confetti landscapes made with a technique learned in a class in Michigan.

Machine pieced & quilted. Found the fabric in Northern Michigan and used the entire color line. Easy and comfortable.

Machine pieced, cut, restitched. The pinwheels all started as 5″ squares – just the trick of cutting and restitching creates the pinwheels.

Machine pieced and quilted on home sewing machine. This was changed from a large quilt pattern. When I tired of making blocks I decided 2 small quilts would do. This and the companion demonstrate how a different color works with the same block.

3D flowers, yo-yo’s, confetti trees – machine embellished. Texture Magic grass. A combination of techniques were used. The 3D flowers were made using a Kanzashi flower maker.

Machine stitching, hand embroidery, fused applique. The upholstery sample background is embellished hand and machine stitching. The cat has hand embroidery embellishment.

Hand dyed fabric, fused applique, hand and machine embroidery. The background fabric was made in an NSNG class a few years ago. It lent itself to the addition of the cats and other fused elements.
