Buzzin’Marcia Lee Hartnell
Fused fabric, crayon & paint stick accents & embroidered bees
TreeMarcia Lee Hartnell
Thread painting, fused confetti fabric. While visiting my sister I was drawn to a tree wall hanging so I tried to make my version using decorative stitches on my sewing machine.
Postage StampMarcia Lee Hartnell
Machine pieced. A variation of the traditional postage stamp quilt design using batik fabrics.
For the BirdsMarcia Lee Hartnell
Fused applique, pieced, machine quilted. This started as a small panel before the bird pattern showed up. The border batik fabrics were from a previous quilted jacket project.
Edge of the WoodsMarcia Lee Hartnell
Background made with shaving cream dyes. The trees are sari silk and fused confetti. In a class using shaving cream and fabric paint for the background the trees were added using sari silk couched onto the design and confetti trees were added.
Inktense MysteryMarcia Lee Hartnell
Pieced, machine embroidered, Inktense pencils and machine quilted. This was a mystery quilt. It had a large blank block that I filled with machine embroidery and used Inktense pencils to fill the void. Charlotte Angotti mystery challenge.
It’s MagicalMarcia Lee Hartnell
Machine pieced & quilted with machine appliqued flowers accented with use of “Texture Magic”. Using “Texture Magic” adds dimension to the piece. The background blocks were left over from a quilt.
Tranquil WoodsMarcia Lee Hartnell
Hand painted fabric background, fused applique with thread painted accents. This is an outgrowth of various classes in landscape quilting. Using painted embellished fabric was unique to this piece.

Hand painted fabric background embellished with paint, tulle and fused applique & machine stitched. Some of the tree painting was done with a spoon and further embellished with fused fabric & machine stitching.
Beon Freo CuffMarcia Lee Hartnell
Hand beaded – peyote stitch background & other beading elements. This was started at an NSNG class and completed a year later. It is my first beading.
Needle Felted BirdsMarcia Lee Hartnell
Hand needle felting from carded wool. These were made after taking a class at the Botanic Garden.
Butterfly GardenMarcia Lee Hartnell
It’s relaxing to embroider and hand stitch with no real stitching in mind. (Elements are fused then hand embroidered and beaded.)
ConifersMarcia Lee Hartnell
Enjoyed getting a selection of green fabrics. (Machine applique.)
On a Fall WalkMarcia Lee Hartnell
The small confetti pieces are fused to the backing. Then top stitched to hold in place. (Confetti fabric pieces fused and over stitched.)

Just liked the pattern and enjoyed paper piecing. (Paper pieced. Machine quilted on a domestic machine.)
