Sally Forth

Melanie Anderson

Machine pieced and quilted. This technique is called “One Block Wonder”. Virtually the entire quilt is made from a single fabric, cut into equilateral triangles.

The Center of My World

Melanie Anderson

Machine pieced and quilted. I was greatly influenced a few years ago by a fellow quilter’s use of topographical maps to create quilts. This is my second, and for a dear woman for whom this is her center.

Taking Liberties

Melanie Anderson

Machine pieced and quilted. I saw a quilt similar to this during a shop-hop and snapped a picture years ago. A dear friend gave me her Liberty of London scraps and I took the liberty of copying from the photo.

Bamboo Dream

Melanie Anderson

Machine piecing and quilting, hand applique. I really enjoyed making this piece. Each square was cut randomly in three places, then one inch strips were inserted. The outcome was a surprise!

A Window on the Rose Garden

Melanie Anderson

Machine “crazy” pieced and machine quilted. I’ve become obsessed with “reuse, recycle”. The roses in the quilt are made entirely from small scraps left over from other projects.

Scarlet Begonias – Grateful Dead

Melanie Anderson

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her toes and I knew without asking she was into the blues; she wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls; I knew right away she was not like other girls… (Pieced, appliqued, embellished.)

Roots and Shoots

Melanie Anderson

Machine pieced and quilted. With a challenge piece, I hope that the fabrics will speak to me. These particular fabrics spoke of roots digging deep into the soil with just a bit of leaf growth above.
