Kaleidoscope

A fun technique with an element of surprise that will inspire anybody’s creativity. Long arm quilting by quilter. (One Block Wonder – uses 6 identical triangles to create a kaleidoscope-like design. The hexagons are then arranged to create the overall quilt design.)

Vintage Chair Covers, Repurposed circa 1940’s

Machine and free motion quilted. Assembled with quilt-as-you-go technique. Appliques of Sunbonnet Sue and OverallSam were originally on chair covers circa1940’s. I purchased them as a rummage sale for $10. Each is framed with improvisational strips in a log cabin pattern. Walking foot and free-motion quilted.

Machine quilted with walking foot and free-motion quilted with various colors of thread. Creating a fabric collage is like painting with fabric. Background is machine quilted with walking foot. Foliage is free-motion quilted with various color threads.

Machine stitched applique, hand quilted. Assembled with quilt-as-you-go technique. Scrap fabrics were used for this combination of raw-edge applique and string quilting on a foundation. Machine applique and hand quilted.
