Zen Entangled

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and quilted. We were given this pattern (the center block) for our guild challenge last year. I like larger quilts so I added the borders to make it bigger. Made entirely from stash fabrics.

Grandma

Appliqu̩ and machine thread painting. Machine quilted. This quilt is the product of a full day class with one of my favorite teachers РPam Holland of Australia. The thread painting was fun and rather meditative.

Chicago: With Elephants

Chris Deering

Fusing, machine applique and machine quilting. A fun kit to make – I even had more of one of the focus fabrics to make the border. The two main fabrics are designed by a local girl – Sara Lawson.

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and quilted This was made for my daughter’s 40th birthday: to celebrate the stength, beauty and creativity of women. I collected “lady” fabrics for several years. Design Source – Original based on a Blue Undergroud pattern.

Hollow Cubes

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and quilted. I took a class with Fran Goldberg in (I think) 2003. I finally finished this quilt this year. I love the dimensionality? See – there IS hope for UFOs!

Pick Up Sticks

Chris Deering

Machine pieced and quilted. I was attracted to collections of fabric designed by Marcia Derst. They were not my usual type of fabric, but I was really drawn to them. I think I found the perfect pattern to make the most of these fabrics.

Wedding Star

Chris Deering

Paper pieced, free hand machine quilted. An ambitious project made for my son, Danny, and his new wife, MeiLin. It was displayed at their wedding reception in Oahu and they generously let me keep it long enough to show you.
